The MUDMAP project is an initiative that enables 4WD enthusiasts to create their own Off-Road map of Australia. Anyone can contribute and edit map data using the OpenStreetMap platform. Explorers like yourself are working together to make the most accurate and up-to-date Off-Road map of Australia.
About THEMAP
The team at Mud Map will use the data collected to create THEMAP, the first Off-Road community made map of Australia. THEMAP highlights 4WD tracks, walking trails and points of interest which are essential for exploring off the beaten track. Updated daily, THEMAP is free to use and will also be available for offline use on iPhone & iPad via Mud Map 2.

Getting involved is simple. You can collect data using any GPS or App that has a tracklog feature. After collection, you can upload your data and it will be used by the community to enhance THEMAP.
Traditionally, small private teams go out and gather data, but this process takes years and most maps are already out of date by the time they hit the shelves. With your help, the community will quickly map out Australia with better detail and accuracy than ever before. After all, many hands make light work.
